Hawk Heritage was commissioned to provide consultancy advice and an archaeological desk-based assessment for the redevelopment of the bus station for a new residential development at Eastgate St Lewes by the Generator Group. The site lies within the important historic medieval town of Lewes. Hawk Heritage also wrote the written scheme of investigation for and managed an evaluation of the site undertaken by Archaeology South-East. This confirmed thee findings of the desk-based assessment that all archaeological remains had been removed by terracing on the western part of the site and that the remaining archaeological remains ere of low-medium significance. The planning application was granted planning consent in 2024.
